    Default Upgrade suggestions

    Hi all,

I'm thinking about updating the patch on BUM-FIGHT and LONDON AIRBOURNE.
Currently I'm running the 1.12 RC1 Linux version on both and these are the settings I use:

    set sv_antiwh "0"
    set sv_recoilemulation "0"
    set sv_stufftextdetection "0"
    set sv_filterchat "0"
    set sv_antistwh "1"
    set sv_kickping "300"
    set sv_kickbadcmd "0"
    set sv_banning "1"

I will be testing the anticham shortly (very excited about) and if I see no extra lag it will stay.

**anticham update: This works great! Thank you! I know it won't block all cham vers but it's gonna keep a ton of Egy noobs out

I have both TDM and OBJ game types running in the same map rotation. I put just about all mods/maps in one .pk3 to keep organized. I noticed the 'execute' string at the bottom of the DMprecache.src in the ZzZzZzZ_Anti-ChamFFA.pk3 pointing to anticham.scr and anticham1.scr. Could you theoretically add the line 'exec global/showcham.scr' for the OBJ to the same DMprecache and throw the showsham.scr in the same global folder for both game types to be covered?

    eg.

    exec anticham/anticham.scr
    wait 2
    exec anticham/anticham1.scr
    exec global/showcham.scr

    -Questions-

    1. Regarding the namefilter.cfg, do I need to add a set sv_** to turn it on? If so what is the proper syntax?

    2. With the sv_kickbadcmd turned on the patch was kicking players who were mistakenly being identified as attempting to use some kind of attack on the server - (I was told this was because of some custom/modded .pk3 they had in their main) - not the kind of attack that triggers the 'malicious command' message but the one where the alert message starts with 'info' something or other. I would like to have it turned on to boot legitimate hacks but I can't because of this. I remember this was a glitch in the way the patch identifies that particular exploit where the client floods the server with info requests. Both LONDON and BUM had a lot of trouble with these kinds of attacks before this update Razo so thanks man. I'm very grateful about not being exposed to that anymore but I can't have members and friends being kicked who are 'clean'. So my question is - does the latest version of the patch still do that?

    3. I REALLY want to turn on the antiwh. Has the lag it causes been addressed with the latest version?

    4. What other new options could I expect to benefit from if I upgrade other than the features I mentioned I use here (including the anticham I am about to install)? And is there anything new that would automatically affect the way I have the servers running now that I would not have the option to turn off if I didn't like it?

Lastly, thanks for all your continued work on this project. It has made a world of difference with convenience and just plain enjoyment for all of us at BUM-FIGHT and LONDON AIRBOURNE

    1. If you have sv_banning set to 1, then you can already ban people names/nicks
    2. From RC2 you can set sv_kickbadcmd back to 1, because I fixed the problem with too long infostring crash in another way that won't trigger false-positives.
    3. Coming RC2.5 Gamma will have new version of AntiWH that should be a lot better, but it will be a testing version

    4. For the list of main changes (without small changes that made the patch more stable) read change logs here:

    http://www.x-null.net/forums/showthr...-Alpha-Version
    http://www.x-null.net/forums/showthr...2-Beta-Version
    http://www.x-null.net/forums/showthr...-Gamma-Version

    http://www.x-null.net/forums/showthr...date-2-5-Alpha
    http://www.x-null.net/forums/showthr...5-Beta-Version

Best would be to use 2.5 Beta version as it contains all previous bug fixes and addons etc.

Thanks for the info. Will be installing the 2.5 Beta on BUM today to test and then London if all is well.
Looking forward to the Gamma release.
