Thread: Player models to Bf2

    Default Player models to Bf2

    Hi,

    sorry, a bit of a random question, for those people who also play Battlefield 2. I've been working on an amateur WW2 mod of it for a while, but the one thing that always bugs me is the ugliness of the player/bot models there; that ragdoll type almost never looks good be it moving, shooting or lying on the ground. For those who are familiar with the MOHAA/MOHAAS models that are used in multiplayer, those awesome models, do you think there's a way of exporting that and making them work in Bf2? The only core difference (from my non-expert understanding) is that Bf2 does have that ragdoll setup whilst MOH uses specific animations for each kind of movement. But maybe there's other technical reasons why such a change wouldn't be possible. I just wanted to check with pros first, before I tried to modify the skins for those ugly Bf2 models to make them look as good as possible.

    KR,

    1-To extract files from the game you can open the .pk3 files with winrar or 7zip;

    2-Look for the 3d models and animations (.skd and .skc);

    3-I use lightray 3D to import the models and then export them into a file format shared by whatever BF2 modding tool you are using.
    I usualy first convert all the skins surfaces of the model into meshes, then delete the bones and export them as either .OBJ or .3DS since most other model editing tools can import them.
    Link to download lightray 3D : http://www.mohaaaa.co.uk/AAAAMOHAA/c...v14-registered

    4- Once you have the MOHAA model exported into a file format your BF2 modding tool can work with, you most likely will have to rigg the meshes to the human skeleton model used in BF2 (never modded BF2 so I don't know).

    Unfortunately it's impossible to export MOHAA's human head models without ruining them. It needs a morph file editing tool which I don't know where to get.

    Hope this helps. Cheers!
