Thread: import/export models MOHAA <-> Blender ?

    Default import/export models MOHAA <-> Blender ?

    I remember seeing people talking about this in the {sfx} forum when the MOHUE project started

    so, this question is directed to the MOHUE team
    is there an addon to import/export models from/to blender with bones?

    i know using lightray you can export models in .obj format but it doesn't work with bones and animations.

    No 3D softwares were used to import/exports MOHAA models, we used an home-made tool to batch-convert all MOHAA assets

    i just figured out that rigged models can be exported from Blender to .ms3d format (MilkShape 3D) then imported to LightRay, and then exported to mohaa.
    the result is a little buggy with the wrong angles but at least it's something.

    Zappa,

    Can you explain how export from LR3D ?
    The tutorials are confused...

    1) I got an obj file (in lr3d turn into a skin...I guess)
    2) Put a bone into lr3d but I dont know how I parent it to mesh

    Click image for larger version.

    3) Always if I try to export...receive a message that not bone or skin to export

    This is what I do to export static models

    1. Create a single bone with position "0 0 0" and the name ORIGIN
    2. Convert the mesh to a skin and select it (Click Yes in the "Delete Mesh" popup)
    3. Click the "Edit Vertices" button
    4. Click "Select Unassigned" to select all vertices
    5. Click "Assign To Bone"
    6. Select the ORIGIN bone (You can easily select it from the "Scene List" button)
    7. Click the "Edit Vertices" button to finish

    Now all vertices are assigned to the ORIGIN bone and you can export the model

    The .skd file is the model and the .skc file is the "idle" animation
