Hi All,
Some of my users keep using pk3 mods that include MoH_AdminMod MAM. What is this "MAM" stuff used for, and why does it cause a command overflow / possible infinite loop in thread only on Linux servers (assuming this is correct since I've been told that the exact same mod worked fine before on a Windows server - haven't actually tested this part)?
I keep fixing their mods for them by disabling MAM in global/dmprecache.scr
Code:
/*
println "====================== MAM: DMprecache ====================="
exec global/MAM_init.scr "global/MAM_precache.scr"
*/
It's definitely MAM that is causing the server to fail to start with some kind of overflow problem. I'm not sure what functionality is lost by commenting out MAM (since I've never used it), but it would be nice if we could track down why this mod is broken on Linux. It appears to be written quite poorly, and I don't have the time to track down why this mod is broken.
Has anyone else run into this before? I've seen two different users run into this issue twice now in the past month, and in each case, commenting out the MAM initialization code makes it so the server will start.
