    Default Password Managers

Since this topic came up in chat, I was inclined to create a thread about it.
Here is a list of some good Password managers. If you would like to submit what you use, just reply in this thread and your PW manager will be added. Also if you would like to post a review of which PW Manager you like/dislike, feel free to do so.

    BitWarden - https://bitwarden.com/

I use 1password. The standalone app is really nice, supporting a lot more than just passwords. Good modern UI.
Their browser plugin is klunky. Various issues. But...
They also have 1passwordX, which you can use instead of the browser plugin, and it works very well and is intuitive. Only downside, 1passwordX is for websites not things like ssh.
At least a while back, 1password X was one of the more expensive subscriptions. But worth it IMHO. It also automatically tells you if your data has appeared somewhere it shouldn't, and tracks news to know if any sites you have set up to keep passwords has been known compromised and proactively warns you to change it. Great password generator built in as well.

I am not associated with 1password in any way shape or form. Just a mostly happy customer.

    Thanks for the review!
Some of the ones I posted I like because of how intuitive and easy they are to use. I never heard of Bitwarden before, but it really looks cool. I like the fact that you can use it without having to install anything. Typically a browser plugin is acceptable, but I'm personally not a huge fan of installing a desktop app.

I've been using Bitwarden for a while without any issues, but I've never used another pw manager before, so I can't tell if it's better or worse than the others, but I'm happy with it (I used to save passwords on a txt )

Also, something related to this topic
Probably most of you already know about this site
    https://haveibeenpwned.com/
In it you can check if your emails and/or passwords has been compromised in a data breach

My old hotmail email was found in 13 breached sites and 1 paste.
It has received hundreds of spam emails over the years

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but just wanted to ask a quick question because I haven't had a chance to personally go through each PW manager yet to see for myself, but do any of these have support for multiple devices. For example can you use it on my personal desktop & laptop and also on my phone? LastPass changed their method of use and you can only use it on 1 device at a time unless you pay.

Bitwarden has support for multiple devices.
I use it on computer and phone without any issues. It even has a handy "autofill" feature that work with the phone apps

In case you want to try it, here is a tutorial to import the passwords from Lastpass https://bitwarden.com/help/article/i...from-lastpass/

Thanks for that Zappa. That's helpful and good to know. I think I will make the switch.
