Thread: MOHAA logfiles

  1. #1

    Default MOHAA logfiles

    Another suggestion:

If it could be done in the patch, a fix for saving logfiles would be very helpful!
This has never worked properly in Mohaa. After a crash or restart the logfile is gone, along with any helpfull crash-info...
I know there are some 3rd-party tools/scripts out there but it would be great if the Reborn patch would support it natively.

There was a script i used that saves it each time the server starts , ie it saves the last one before it over-rights it , for a windows server i think

Indeed, I used a script that saved logfiles by renaming them to a date/timestamp in a separate directory.
Works both on Windows and Linux. That is, it -used- to work (on Linux at least).
Now the renamed logfile somehow has corruption in the date/timestamp and logfiles can't be opened. Or even deleted!

Too bad, it was a good script. Armageddon made it but I can't seem to find the thread on the forum.
Want me to post it here so you can have a looksee, Purple?

    Yea i know the script ,>> http://www.x-null.net/forums/showthr...logfile+backup <<

Linux has a bug with the Get Date command, so when it would save it , it would corrupt it.

Never knew the getdate was bugged under Linux.

Strange thing is, it always worked well for me, until a couple of days ago.
Here's a screeny of my logs dir on the server:

Maybe Razor knows if it's possible to fix the logfile issue native in the Reborn patch.
    Can it be done, Razor?
I mean not only fix the corruption with the *nix getdate, but also make the logfile "3" option work so it appends to the logfile?

logfile 3 flushes to log file with every new console log. I never heard that it was meant to append to the file, but it's possible.
