Thread: Update error?

    Default Update error?

    Hello,

I checked my server this afternoon to find out it was down, al though on the site it said it was still running. Restarts didn't do anything.. so I checked the log.
The following text is from the bottom of the log, I thought it had something to do with the auto-update?

Hitch warning: 565 msec frame time
    ----- Server Shutdown -----
    broadcast: print "Server quit\n"

    ------------------ MoH:AA 1.12 Reborn Patch Shutdown ------------------
    Shared settings memory deinitialized correctly.
    LocalizationError removal fix shutdown.
    G_BulletAttack: Unhooked correctly.
    Anti Wallhack/Visuals protection shutdown
    UserInfo Buffer overflow protection shutdown
    RConFlood Crash Protection shutdown
    InfoBoom Crash Protection shutdown
MoH:AA BOF (Buffer Overflow) Crash Protection shutdown
    Kick/Ban Announcements Deinitialized
    ScriptedEvents System Deinitialized
    ScriptedTimers System Deinitialized
    Internal Packet Flood Protection Deinitialized
    --> Starting update process...
    fpath: main/gamex86.dll
    bpath: updatebackup/main/gamex86.dll.ubak
Now I can't get it to start again, stopping it and starting it again won't work, and simply waiting a while doesn't do anything either.
The serverhost is the only one who can access the mohaa.exe and .dll files, thus I can't remove the patch without emailing the host, and I'd rather not keep on mailing him and letting him do things that might not be needed, thus I posted it here first.

Any idea what I have to do now? A simple reinstall of the patch?

    Kind Regards,
    Brian

It seems like it stops on moving files. You can dwnload latest updated gamex86.dll binary and paste it so it will be up to date, or give more persmissions to the folders so patch can move the files itself and autoupdate. You can also stop the update check by setting this CVar (sv_updatedelay) to higher value, however I don't recommend this as new update has protection against nade crash we've been discussing lately.

All right thanks, I'll talk to the serverhost about it.
And the server is sniper only anyways, so for now it's not a big deal if the update doesn't work, but in the future we will most likely need a new update ofc.
