Thread: RC3.1 problems?

  1. #1

    Default RC3.1 problems?

    Tested this on my server today, Dont know if its just me or if its everyone but heres what i get.

    First everything looked good played 2-3 maps 30+ players on without problems then came remagen changing to crossroads, Server crashes and restarts itself, most people rejoin,

    Players get kicked on there own, they reconnect ask why have i been kicked? umm Im not sure, I look in the logs , Nothing, The only thing i get is (playername) was kicked on the left under the compass, I open console and it says a different player was kicked but the guy that was acctually kicked just says he dissconnected. 6 players have been kicked for no reason that i know of tonight, So I was watching just to keep an eye on anything else happening and remegen comes on again but halfway thru the map this time, Server crashes...

    I have tryed the auto update from a post by RR saying change dates and change map etc, After doing that i couldnt even start the server after it crashed, had to take out sv_updatedelay ( i think ) out and then the server would start,

    So for now i have gone back to the 2.5 patch because I dont have any problems with that one, But im gonna test out 3.1 again on another server when i finish work tomorrow,

    Anyone have same problems? or tips for me to fix this because maybe I have done something really wrong to act like this.

    Thanks

    I have totally deleted everything from the server because there was some reborn file in the server i couldnt delete manually and i had about 12 members on ts demanding the server back so i kinda rushed it and didnt think to save the logs, but ill get it set up on another server and if the same happens ill remember to keep them for you

    but heres what i had im my server.cfg if that helps

    set sv_antiwh "0"
    set sv_recoilemulation "0"
    set sv_stufftextdetection "0"
    set sv_filterchat "1"
    set sv_antistwh "0"
    set sv_kickping "0"

    I got kicked once. No admin kicked me, so I'm not sure why I was.

    The server crashed 2 times in the middle of a map as well, but there wasn't anything in the logs.

    I have just got home from work and checked again and i actually did save one of the log files but cant really see anything but maybe i have the wrong kinda log file. it just has things like this in it.

    Code:
    	local.msgtime = int local.msgtime (global/ac/server_messages.scr, 18)
    		local.msgtime = ^

    ^~^~^ Script Error: Cannot cast 'NIL' to int

    		if(local.msgtime < 0.05 || local.msgtime == NIL) (global/ac/server_messages.scr, 20)

    The log file is huge so cant really look thru it all but this was the log file for when the server crashed, But it dont log anything for the crash it just ends and i cant see anything about the kicks.

    I notice all the way thru the log im getting

    Code:
    ^~^~^ Script Error: binary '<' applied to incompatible types 'NIL' and 'float'

    ^~^~^ Script Error: Cannot cast 'NIL' to int
    Not sure if that has anything to do with it tho, Im not good at reading log files and understanding whats going on lol

    OK. 1.102 should have this problems fixed.

    I'll let you know when you can start doing auto-update tests to get 1.102

    Linux version shouldn't have any problems with auto-updates.

    Arma, anything about this kick in the middle of the map? Really no logs? If it happens again, please send me a full qconsole.log . If it's a Linux server, you can also try redirecting stdout to a file.

    Clayf, this error is caused by a script, not a patch.

    People probably get kicked after dropping gamestate, or some creazy stuff is going on during some map changes. Also the command queue gets full and this can also cause a kick for people. As I said, the fix is coming. It will also be a auto-update system test you should perform
