MOHAA Mouse Aim Fix :: Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8

The Problem:

... Mouse movements in MOHAA running under Windows 7 are choppy, way to sensitive when you run, but perfect when you stand still? I have 2 ATI 4890s in crossfire. I currently have a dual boot setup into XP, as MOHAA works perfectly there with the mouse. I just don't get it, and it doesn't seem that lot of people have this issue.

I don't know if that video shows it well enough. Trust me, it's just weird. I tried using a 1 to 1 mouse movement ratio patch for Windows 7, and that didn't make things better.

When running, if I turn the mouse slightly, it turns 180 degrees no matter the mouse sensitivity. Also, the FPS looks pretty low in Windows 7... normally I get 800+ fps. A slight turn, and I spin around 180 degrees. It's pretty hard to aim like this. Anyone have any suggestions?

The Fix:

I've been playing MOHAA for a long time on XP x86 and XP x64, so I noticed a huge difference when I played the game in Windows Vista & 7. For one, the mouse turn speed varies and does not stay constant. I could never aim very well in MOHAA running under Windows 7 because it was too fast (only when turning to face different directions) no matter my Windows' mouse settings or game's mouse settings. I tried different drivers, different computers, different mice, mouse fixes, and more. Nothing worked for me. Granted, the differences are very slight from XP to Windows 7, but the difference was extremely noticeable to me, and I could never get used to it.

Finally, I tried this fix:

It's the only fix that's worked for me. I can now finally upgrade to Windows 7 as my primary OS on my i7 hardware. Hope this helps someone else besides me. For instructions on how to use the mouse 1:1 ratio patch, read the ReadMe file.

Yeah, to the see the difference, you would need to play in XP first. Then boot into Win7 and try it. The difference it subtle but there.
